How to play

Casino Stud Poker is played with a standard 52 card deck.

• Bet
To play you must place a bet on the space marked Ante.

• Insurance
There is another bet (Insurance), marked by an “S”. The Insurance bet is not affected by the croupiers hand, it wins only and always, when the player has one of the following combinations:

- Full House:   pays 100 times the “S” bet
- Poker:   300 times the “S” bet
- Straight Flush:   pays 1.000 times the “S” bet
- Royal Flush:   pays 2.000 times the “S” bet
This bet will never be more than half the minimum “Ante”.

When all bets have been placed on “Ante” and “S” the croupier deals five cards to each hand and five to him self, all face down except his last card which is dealt face up.

Rules for the player

:: At this point the player has three options:

• Fold
If you believe that your hand will not beat the croupiers, you place your cards face down on your box and state your intention of not playing, saying No voy (Fold). The croupier will remove your “Ante” and your cards.

• Bet
When you believe that your hand is superior to the croupiers hand, you must place an amount exactly double the “Ante” on top of your cards in the second box, announcing Doblo (Double)

.• Buy an extra card
If you think your hand would improve by buying an other card, you discard one of your cards on the appropriate box, and place the same amount as your “Ante” on top, at the same time you must also Double. Then you will inform the croupier by saying Compro una carta (Buy a card).

The croupier will then collect your additional bet, your discard.

Rules for the crupier

When all the players have finished betting the croupier reveals his cards.

If the croupier does not have Ace / King or better he will pay all remaining “Ante” bets even money. The “Double” bet is not affected.

If the croupier does qualify, i.e. he has Ace / King or better, he will then compare his hand to each players hand in turn.

When the cards of the player are superior to the croupiers, the “Ante” will be paid even money and the “Double” bet according to the payout table. If the hand is inferior to the croupiers both bets lose.

In both cases the croupier will take all losing “S” bets and pay all winning “S” bets.
